An outline, and map, of the course
We've designed this course in seven parts, which could be taken a week at a time, making it a seven week course.
Week 1 - introduction to the course and Active Hope Training
Week 2 - Coming from Gratitude - resourcing ourselves for a stronger starting point
Week 3 - Honouring our Pain for the World - looking at what helps us mobilise the energy of our heart reactions
Week 4 - Seeing with New Eyes Part 1 - opening to encouraging and inspiring perspectives, introducing Systems Thinking and Gaia Theory
Week 5 - Seeing with New Eyes Part 2 - seeing our power to make a difference with new eyes, introducing decolonisation and deep time.
Week 6 - Going Forth - finding our part to play, and planning how to move forward with this
Week 7 - Deepening and Sharing Active Hope - looking back at the journey we've covered and ahead at potential next steps, including sharing Active Hope with others
It is fine to take longer than a week on each section, though we'd encourage you to allow at least that, to give you time to engage with each section's theme and practice.
Each section of the course introduces a central practice that we invite you to try out that week. These practices, which can be engaged with by yourself as a personal practice, in conversation as a paired process, or in a group setting, are designed to nourish and strengthen your capacity to engage in Active Hope.
The amount of video content varies each week - the first week has 1 hour and 45 mins of content, while week 2 has just under 30 mins. The other weeks vary between these, and we'd encourage you to allow at least 30 minutes each week for the practice if done as a solo process, longer if done in pairs or as a group.
You're welcome to use any of the materials from the course if you're exploring Active Hope with others, or drawing on the themes from the course in other group or educational settings.
